Laphria unicolor (Williston): Original Description

Williston, S. W. 1884. On the North American Asilidae (Dasypogoninae, Laphriinae), with a new genus of Syrphidae. Transactions of the American Entomological Society Vol. 11(1883), Page 26.

46. Dasyllis unicolor n. sp.--[male].--Black shining, everywhere yellow pilose, rather more fulvous on the thorax. Wings tinged with brown, hyline on basal portion. length 19 mm.

One specimen, Washington Territory.

There is but little to add to this diagnosis. I do not perceive a black hair or bristle anywhere. In size and shape it does not differ from specimens of astur.
